Poem by Martha Samuel
Is it really fear of the unknown
Or knowledge of the fear itself
That hinders us or propels us towards our pursuits…
Or is it the mere idea of pursuing that stalls us
On the brink of reaching out and touching our goals…
Perhaps its the raging thoughts of how people will think and judge us
That spills the acid of doubt
On our already sprouting buds…
If only we would have faith for fear
And squash down the tentacles of doubt
If only we would heighten our belief
And rely less on critics judgements
To embrace the warm thoughts of positivity
Let’s find comfort in the knowledge
That life like the wavesof the sea
Will sweep us back and forth, up and down
And unless we trust our will power
We will lose out on God’s favour
And will forget that dependence
On people creates shaky foundations
But only in God shall we find
the strength of our foundation
Our eternal Rock of Salvation
