The national carrier, Kenya Airways has unveiled the Magical Kenya Branding on Dreamliner, B-787.
The brand on one of the newest air crafts in the KQ fleet was unveiled on Wednesday at a ceremony that marked the partnership of the Tourism Ministry and KQ. The move is in a bid to grow the number of visitors to Kenya and passengers for the airline.
At the event, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala declared it mandatory for government officials to travel using Kenya Airways from Friday.
“Look at countries such as Britain, its government officials always use British Airways, which communicates loyalty. If we are therefore asking people to buy Kenya, us as government must lead by example and buy Kenya,” he said.
On the other hand, Kenya Airways Chief Executive Mbuvi Ngunze announced that the airline will start flights to Cape Town via Livingstone in a new plan that targets traffic growth.
KQ was lauded by Balala for the resilience it had shown amidst the turbulence that hit the business and expressed hope in the turn-around strategy by the airline.
The CS was taken on a tour of the Dreamliner, B-787 which features a state-of-the- art interior and cockpit fitted with advanced technology.
