M-Pesa to go offline for three hours on Monday for system upgrade

Safaricom PLC has announced that all M-Pesa services will be unavailable on Monday, September 22, 2025, as the company conducts a scheduled system upgrade.
The maintenance, set to run from 12:30 am to 3:30 am, is aimed at enhancing service reliability, security, and overall performance across the mobile money platform.
“For 18 years, M-Pesa has continued to transform lives across Kenya, connecting you, our customers, to opportunities every day. During this period, all M-Pesa transactions, including airtime purchases, will be temporarily suspended.
The company assured customers that the timing of the upgrade was chosen to minimise disruption and apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused.
Safaricom encouraged users to plan their transactions ahead of the maintenance window and thanked them for their continued support, reiterating its commitment to delivering transformative digital and financial solutions.
