Kenyan Motorist Drives Land Rover Across Canada From Atlantic to Pacific

Kenyan motorist Kim Musau is driving a Kenyan-registered Land Rover across Canada, travelling from Nova Scotia to Vancouver in a journey that spans the country from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast.

The expedition was recognised by the Kenyan High Commission in Canada during an event hosted by Ambassador Carolyne Kamende Daudi in Ottawa. Officials described the journey as a reflection of resilience, adventure and cultural pride, and said such initiatives help raise Kenya’s profile in areas such as travel and adventure tourism.

Musau documents his travels through his social media platform, Alpha Land Rover. He is driving his Land Rover KAJ 655S, a vehicle widely associated with endurance and exploration. The Kenyan-registered vehicle has become a familiar sight on Canadian roads and has been welcomed by members of the Kenyan diaspora, who view it as a symbol of connection to home.

The Land Rover also carries symbolic significance. Long linked to expeditions across Africa’s rugged terrain, the vehicle is now travelling through Canada’s highways, mountain routes and remote regions.

Musau previously completed another major overland expedition in 2023, when he drove solo from Nairobi to North Cape in Norway, the northernmost point of Europe. The journey covered nearly 30,000 kilometres across 37 countries. During that trip, he encountered difficult border crossings, visa requirements and changing weather conditions, particularly in West Africa.
