I’ll back Sonko if he wins Jubilee primaries, says Kenneth
Nairobi governor aspirant Peter Kenneth yesterday said he will back Senator Mike Sonko if the former Gatanga MP loses the Jubilee Party nomination to him.
He denied rumours of being endorsed by top party officials saying he is focussed on campaigning to win the nominations. The former legislator vowed to support any candidate in Jubilee despite growing rift between his camp and the Sonko-led team.
Speaking at a soccer tournament in Nairobi’s Dagoretti Market yesterday, Kenneth said he was ready for the party primaries anytime, adding that his desire is “to bring about change in the capital which is rotting under the leadership of the Governor Evans Kidero”.
“Nairobi is chocking with garbage. There is a lot of garbage and congestion in town,” he said.
His entry into the city governor seat has caused jitters among politicians who have accused him of being an outsider.
