H.E. THE AMBASSADOR VISITS JAXA TSUKUBA SPACE CENTER FOR THE HANDINGOVER CEREMONY OF KENYAN KIBOCUBE SATELLITE
H.E. Mr. S.K. Maina, M.B.S. attended the Handingover Ceremony of Kenyan KiboCUBE Satellite (“1KUNS-PF”) which was held at JAXA Tsukuba Space Center on 16th January, 2018. In August, 2016, University of Nairobi was selected to be the first beneficiary from the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) KiboCUBE Programme. The launch of the Kenya KiboCUBE Satellite from the International Space Station is scheduled for Spring 2018. The ceremony was followed by the signing of Certificate for Acceptance of 1KUNS-PF between University of Nairobi and JAXA, witnessed by H.E. the Ambassador and Dr. Koichi Wakata, a former Astronaut.
