VIDEO: Ruto’s Motorcade Blocked By Kanu Supporters
-
Deputy President (DP) William Ruto‘s convoy was on Saturday blocked by KANU supporters in Kericho town, while heading to Uhuru Gardens for a campaign rally.
The DP’s motorcade was denied access to a road leading to the gardens by a huge crowd, forcing the convoy to divert to a different road.
In a video shared on twitter, the mammoth crowd dressed in KANU colours is seen waving Ruto’s fleet away, forcing him to cave in.
Ruto was leading other Jubilee leaders to the final campaign rally ahead of Monday’s Senatorial by-election, in a bid to drum up support for JAP’s candidate Aaron Cheruiyot.
The leaders, however, managed to access the venue where they addressed thousands of their supporters.
Earlier on, Jubilee and KANU supporters had clashed over a venue in which both factions intended to hold rallies.
Leaders from both groups insisted that they had received permission to use Moi Gardens, prompting the police to lob teargas canisters to disperse the charging mob.
