ROSEMARY ODINGA bows out of Kibra Parliamentary seat
ROSEMARY ODINGA bows out of Kibra Parliamentary seat following doctor’s advice, to continue serving constituency in other capacities.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Rosemary Odinga has bowed out of the race for the Kibra parliamentary seat.
According to Rosemary, the move follows her doctor’s advice after she fell ill last month.
Rosemary, who has been campaigning for the seat for about two years, has thanked her supporters for standing with her and has promised to continue serving the people of Kibra in other capacities.
“I would like to thank each and every person that supported my bid and the people of Kibra for opening their hearts and homes to me. I will forever cherish your outpouring love and prayers,” said Rosemary.
The former prime minister’s daughter suffered a mild stroke last month and was airlifted to South Africa for treatment.
Kibra MP Ken Okoth who is seeking for re-election is on Tuesday facing stiff opposition from former Raila’s aide Eliud Owalo and another aspirant Martin Okoth for the ODM nominations.
Rosemary had on Saturday, January 21 in Kibra declared her bid saying that she was ready to serve as the Member of Parliament in an area that his father represented for 20 years.
Born on August 19, 1977, Rosemary is the second child of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. She is an entrepreneur, an advocate for alternative agriculture and proponent of social equality.
