World Travel Awards honours Baobab Beach Resort & Spa with top African prize
World Travel Awards has unveiled its Africa 2020 winners to coincide with its inaugural Africa Winners Day. The global initiative to recognize and reward excellence in travel and tourism announced Baobab Beach Resort & Spa as Africa’s Leading Family Resort.
The Baobab cemented its reputation as the definitive all-inclusive family resort that families around Africa and beyond find paradise when looking for a family-friendly holiday retreat.
Evidently, its serene natural beauty, paired with a remarkable location, lends itself perfectly to an unforgettable and truly relaxing escape. Set within 80 acres of tropical gardens, a tidal lagoon and a 700m stretch of pristine beach frontage, you would be forgiven for thinking you had escaped to your own private island when you stay at the Baobab Beach Resort & Spa.
Recently, just recently based on outstanding Travelers reviews, Baobab Beach Resort & Spa was recognized by TripAdvisor as travellers choice Winner 2020 placing it in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.
Committed to excellence in family travel for half a century, it is indeed a pledge that assures guests pleasure, effortless luxury and the highest quality of service.
In the aviation sector, Ethiopian Airlines lifted ‘Africa’s Leading Airline’, whilst ‘Africa’s Leading Airport’ went to Cape Town International Airport. Kenya Airways picked up both ‘Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class’ and ‘Africa’s Leading Airline – Economy Class’.
These results follow a year-long search for the world’s top travel, tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.
Graham Cooke, Founder, World Travel Awards, says: “Our winners represent the very best of Africa’s travel and tourism sector and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges.”
He adds: “The World Travel Awards 2020 program received a record number of votes cast by the public. This shows that the appetite for travel and tourism has never been stronger and bodes well for the industry’s future as the global recovery begins.”
Other winners include Serengeti National Park (‘Africa’s Leading
National Park’); Thanda Island, Tanzania (‘Africa’s Leading Luxury Island’); Shambala Private Game Reserve, South Africa (‘Africa’s Leading Private Game Reserve’); and The Oberoi, Marrakech (‘Morocco’s Leading Hotel Suite’).
