Uzalendo golf tournament brings together the entire Safari Golf Chapters community Together

NJ – On Saturday, May 28th, Safari NJ/NY hosted its 7th annual Uzalendo golf tournament at Mercer Golf Course in Princeton junction NJ to commemorate Memorial holiday cum Madaraka day celebrations. These are two holidays, one celebrated in America and the other in Kenya respectively. Players FROM Different Safari Chapters participated in the tournament. Entering its 7th year, the golf tournament is one of the Safari NJ/NY longest standing and most successful, its launch through the collaboration of the Former Kenyan Ambassador to the UN, Muburi Muita, and Safari NJ/NY.At the start, golfers practiced hitting balls at the golf range and putting. Thereafter 32 golfers had the opportunity to play golf while. The weather co-operated and over 32 Safari NJ/NJ members and guests from other Safari Chapters came out to support the tournament. Safari Boston golf club was represented by Tony Ngarí, Francis Kíbugi & Martin Mùhía.Not only does the Uzalendo Golf Tournament pay tribute and honor the memory of American heroes and celebrate Kenya’s emancipation from the British rule, but it also brings together the entire Safari Golf Chapters. Obviously, Safari chapters from Boston, NJ/NY, Delaware, MD, DC are well represented at the tournament, so on Saturday May the 28th when the seventh annual Uzalendo event was held at Mercer Oaks golf course in Princeton you saw people from at least a dozen Safari Chapters.This was like one big high school reunion with all of the cubs involved. When you saw all of the people there from so many different clubs, you saw the impact that Ambassador Muburi Muita made in his tenure here in the US throughout the entire Kenya community and friends. “It was just great to see so many people out there and this tournament will always be a special day. A lot of hard work goes into it, but it’s all worth it.” The various
captains, Presidents and Chairpersons from the different Safari chapters also invited the attendees to participate in their respective future upcoming golf events such as “Safari DC tournament” Charity tournament being hosted by Muraya, Safari Boston Make it Matter charity tournament in September, etc. Again, Liz Muriuki and Jojo thanked the golfers for their participation and camaraderie.To round out the day, golf participants for this event were given trophies and prizes.
