Uhuru Missing in Action: Kenyans question President’s ‘silence’ over national crises
Other than the doctors’ and lecturers’ strikes, President Uhuru Kenyatta has appeared noticeably quiet over the recent deadly terror attack on Kenyan Defence Forces, KDF, camp in Kulbiyow, Somalia . The President has not spoken publicly or condoled with the bereaved, six days after the attack. Instead, more emphasis appears to have been given to the election agenda, especially in driving the voter registration exercise. Debarl Inea discusses what could be the reason behind this with Muranga’ Deputy Governor Gakure Monyo, Wajir Deputy Governor Abdihafid Yarrow and Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke.
