It was the first time in a while that Odinga graced a church fundraiser. He has always been against Deputy President William Ruto’s donations to churches and fundraisers wanting him to make public the source of Ruto’s genorous contributions. Though it is not clear the personal contribution the ODM leader made, Opera news Hub has learnt that 20.8 Million was raised towards the construction of Bondo Synod plaza.
Taking to his Twitter account to thank all those who made the event a success, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo who was also the master of ceremonies made the revelation.
“I Was happy to MC as I joined Raila Odinga, Jimmy Wanjigi Orengo James, among others, as we prayed and raised funds for Bondo Synod Plaza; Raised Kshs 20.8M. Congratulations Bishop Prof Kodia & All Who Supported the Cause.” Otiende revealed.
It is in the meeting Odinga took time to clarify that the Mt. Kenya leaders had met him at his home not to endorse him for any seat in 2022 but as friends of the whole community.
