Award winning singer and songwriter reflects on one of  her greatest achievement of starting  a project called the Eye See Project

Interview By Sam Mwaura/Samrack Media

Whats your name and what do you do?

My name is Ntambo Chibambo Kaendera and I am the Director of The Eye See Project at Face of Harvest. I am also a singer/worship leader and songwriter.

What are you good at?

I am good at a number of things. It’s hard to even name one lol but maybe cooking, music and writing to name a few. Dancing haha, that was in the past lol.

Tell me about your music? Do you have any recent videos you have done?

Yes You can find them on YouTube under Ntambo Closer and Ntambo Sifu Bwana among others.

What’s your weakness if any?

I am very bad at saying no to helping others. It’s not always a good thing because I sometimes over stretch myself just to put a smile on someone’s face but so rewarding.

What’s the name of the last book you enjoyed reading?

The last book I enjoyed reading was Blessed by Kate Bowler. Really good read.

“it traces the roots of the prosperity gospel: from the touring mesmerists, metaphysical sages, pentecostal healers, business oracles, and princely prophets of the early 20th century; through mid-century positive thinkers like Norman Vincent Peale and revivalists like Oral Roberts and Kenneth Hagin; to today’s hugely successful prosperity preachers. Bowler focuses on such contemporary figures as Creflo Dollar, pastor of Atlanta’s 30,000-member World Changers Church International; Joel Osteen, known as “the smiling preacher,” with a weekly audience of seven million; T. D. Jakes, named by Time magazine one of America’s most influential new religious leaders; Joyce Meyer, evangelist and women’s empowerment guru; and many others. At almost any moment, day or night, the American public can tune in to these preachers-on TV, radio, podcasts, and in their megachurches-to hear the message that God desires to bless them with wealth and health. Bowler offers an interpretive framework for scholars and general readers alike to understand the diverse expressions of Christian abundance as a cohesive movement bound by shared understandings and common goals.”

What’s the most Surprising thing that ever happened to you?

The most surprising thing that ever happened was learning about my pregnancy. I had no idea I was expecting for a little over a month. I was young and so naive but the birth of my daughter was truly the greatest surprise by far. Truly beautiful young lady.

What’s a common misconception on Ntambo?

A common misconception about me, Hmmm I don’t know lol

Whats the best age to be?

The best age to be is 30 years I think. Life begins to really become meaningful. You become more comfortable in your own skin and usually you have a major priority shift hopefully.

Whats the best part of your job?

The best part of my job if I can even call it that is seeing lives transformed and giving someone a pair of free eye glasses. Nothing beats sharing Christ with the world.

Any regrets in life?

I used to have so many regrets. But I realized that regretting doesn’t change what already was. Then I came to a place of realizing that God allows everything for a reason. He is sovereign over all and that said, everything in life happens for a reason and you can either choose to learn from both the good and bad with no regrets and move on.

Are there any Celebrity figure(s) you identify yourself with?

No because I love my individuality. I appreciate others gift don’t get me wrong but I think every person is equally as special. Only have one reference point to really compare my life to and that is the scriptures.

Any living person you admire?

Living person I mostly admire is my mother. She is the epitome of an elegant woman and by far the most interesting person I have ever come across and I mean that literally. Great woman.

What are some of your greatest achievements?

My greatest achievements were to start a project called the Eye See Project a couple of years ago and raising awareness for glaucoma and other eye ailments and providing free eye wear to under privileged people and sharing with them the unprecedented word of God. Some of my greatest work being in Mombasa Kenya.

So Ntambo who is your favorite author?

My favorite author is probably Apostle Paul who fourteen books of the New Testament. Really incredible servant of God and truly his writings have such a great foundation of Christianity today.

What’s your greatest possession?

My greatest possession is my faith in God. I don’t know where I’d be without it. I think anything material is only passing.

Ntambo, what would you say or do if you were to die in the next five minutes?

If I were to die in the next 5 minutes..! I would tell the World that cared enough to listen that all this that we see today will soon pass away. “Forgive yourself, forgive others and make each day count. Don’t live in the past. Let today be governed by the hope of today and of the future to come in Christ Jesus.

Ntambo is an award winning singer and songwriter and the Director of the Eye See Project with a non profit organization called Face of Harvest.
