Narok senator flies to South Africa to look for best fence for Mau forest
Ongoing Mau evictions have seen Ole Kina take a radical approach on the issue
He has been on EACC’s radar for remarks that had capacity to whip-up ethic animosity – He now wants to purchase a fence from South Africa to protect Mau forest from intruders – Social media users have bashed him for not sourcing the same from local markets – Some have even termed his trip and initiative as waste of hard earned taxpayers resources Outspoken Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina has been at the center of public lashing after pictures of him in a South African city, sourcing material to fence off Mau Forest went viral. Via his Twitter account, Ole Kina stated he was in Johannesburg in a mission to source for the best fence in what he termed as ‘undying spirit of conservation’.
The pictures showed a fence expert who showed Ole Kina some of the best fence types they had in store. This development comes shortly after the Narok Legislator was summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) officers over incitement remarks.
On Tuesday, September 25, Ledama warned those who have brought trouble in the region to prepare for the wrath of the Maasai community. “You are the one who have brought all this problem, let me remind you that if you disturb the bees, then be ready to deal with it. You have disturbed the Maasai and it has come that time. This nonsense of Kalenjin women making noise throughout the night as if you have been bewitched….you must stop that,” said Ole Kina, in a speech which later sparked public uproar.
