Kenyan Woman Dies in Saudi Arabia While Preparing to Return Home

Grace Wangui Kamande, a Kenyan migrant worker in Saudi Arabia, has died after falling ill while preparing to return home, according to reports.
Ms Kamande travelled to Saudi Arabia in November 2025 in search of employment opportunities. Soon after her arrival, her health began to deteriorate. By December, she had developed an illness that progressively worsened over the following months.
As her condition declined, plans were made for her to return to Kenya, where she was expected to receive treatment and support from her family. However, she died before completing the journey. Reports indicate that she collapsed while travelling by bus in Dammam as she began the process of returning home.
Details about the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. Her family continues to seek answers regarding her final hours. Many Kenyans leave the country each year in search of better economic prospects but often encounter unfamiliar working conditions and limited access to support systems.
