Kenya junior swimming team finishes 9th in CANA championship
The Kenya junior swimming team finished 9th overall at the CANA Zone four swimming championship which ended today in Lilongwe Malawi.
The team won 21 medals in total, 6 gold, 4 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Zambia won the tournament with a whooping 82 medals; 26 gold, 27 silver and 29 bronze medals.
The Kenya national swimming team is now expected back in the Country tomorrow after the completion of the tournament won by Zambia.
The girls team came close to breaking the Kenyan relay record, clocking 2 minutes, 03.03 second finishing fourth in the event while the boys were outstanding in their event taking gold.
Imara Bell Thorpe won two gold medals in the event with Tabuka Bifwoli and Aryen Muravvej also winning their respective events.
Tabuka also won silver with Jasmine Kimani and Kunaal Khagram being among the bronze medalists.
Zambia were the champions of the zone IV championship with a total of 82 medals, 26 of which were gold medals beating South Africa who were second with a total of 55 medals, 22 of which were gold medals.
Swaziland is the only country that failed to win a gold medal, finishing last with a total of seven medals; one silver and six bronze medals.
