Kabogo’s Message to President Uhuru and Raila
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has called on President Uhuru and his National Super Alliance (NASA) competitor Raila Odinga to engage in dialogue and end the confusion surrounding the October 26th repeat election.
In a message on his Twitter account, Kabogo urges the two to hold talks and resolve the issues that could derail the fresh election so that the country can move on from the current uncertainty.
“Mr. President UK and Hon. RAO speak to each other and lets have The long awaited Elections. Kenya will be even after Elections,” He said in a tweet.
“Give n take. Even if it means dropping the irreducible minimum demands on IEBC and dropping the amendments to the election laws, so be it,” the former Governor said in another tweet.
On Sunday, President Kenyatta ruled out engaging in talks with Mr Odinga over the repeat Presidential election set for October 26th.
“The constitution says that the sovereign power belongs to the people. All power is vested in the people and it is the people who shall decide who will lead them,” Uhuru stated in a meeting with coast leaders in State House Mombasa.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Jambo on Wednesday, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said he was ready to dialogue with Uhuru.
“We need to solve our own problems and I am ready to hold talks with anyone so that we can get a solution to the current stalemate,” He said.
Raila has already withdrawn from the race for repeat poll.
