A vigil has been organised by activist Boniface Mwangi at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Mwangi has asked people planning to attend the event, to bring flowers, handwritten messages to be pinned on a board at the venue.
The vigil will coincide with the last day of mourning that had been declared by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday during an address to the Nation from State House Nairobi.
So far 78 bodies have been identified out of the 147 that had been airlifted to Nairobi.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department had been called in to help with identification of bodies that had been disfigured at the Chiromo mortuary.
