E-passport to be issued in the UK
The Kenya High Commission will start to issue the new digital Kenyan passport on the
10th of August 2019

E-PASSPORTS REQUIREMENTS IN UK
The London Mission is a commissioned passport control office and processes passports. The waiting period is an average of 6 weeks.
The Kenya Government is now implementing a new e-Passport issuing system (from 1st September 2017) as per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. The passport printing will be centrally done in Nairobi. Applicants will be required to submit applications online on the e-Citizen platform ( visit https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and present themselves to the High Commission for processing.
Please note that the current valid passports will be in use for the next two years i.e. till 31st August 2019 after which they will be rendered invalid.
Passports
Requirements for Renewing an Expired/Filled up Passport:
Two printouts of online completed form 19 and corresponding receipts
Original and two copies(Bio Data Page) of passport
Two copies of your Kenyan ID.
Two copies of Kenyan Birth Certificate
Two copies of United Kingdom’s Residence Permit/Visa
Two passport sized-photographs 45mm x 35mm (UK Standard Size).
Applications must be recommended (in Section 7) by a Kenyan citizen, who should provide two copies of his/her passport or ID card
For postal applications include a pre-paid self-addressed return courier envelope (it should have a tracking number).
Passport Requirements for a minor (Below 18 years):
Two printouts of online completed form 19 and corresponding receipts
Original and two copies of Birth Certificate
Two copies of Parents Kenya passport
Proof of father’s/mother’s Kenya Nationality (Two copies of Kenya passport and Identity card)
Two copies of United Kingdom’s Residence Permit/Visa
Two copies of completed Parental Consent form ( completed by father or mother)
Two copies of the Father’s / Mother’s Kenyan Birth certificate (both Sides)
Applications must be recommended (in Section 7) by a Kenyan citizen, who should provide two copies of his/her passport or ID card
For postal applications include a pre-paid self-addressed return courier envelope (it should have a tracking number).
Requirements for Replacing a Lost or Damaged Passport:
Two printouts of online completed form 19 and corresponding receipts
Two copies of police Report in case of a lost passport
A Sworn Affidavit (and a copy) done before a Commissioner of Oaths explaining the circumstances under which the passport got lost or mutilated.
Two copies of lost passport or original of any previously held.
The damaged passport (and a copy) for those replacing a mutilated one.
Two copies of Kenya Identity card.
Two copies of birth certificate.
Two copies of United Kingdom’s Residence Permit/Visa
Duly filled proforma (and a copy) for lost/damaged passport
Two passport- sized photographs 45mm x 35mm (UK Standard Size) with one photo signed at the back by your recommender ( Refer to note nos. 2& 3 in the application form).
Additional documentary proof of Kenya citizenship may be required if necessary.
Applications must be recommended (in Section 7) by a Kenyan citizen, who should provide two copies of his/her passport or ID card.
For postal applications include a pre-paid self-addressed return courier envelope (it should have a tracking number).
Name Change in Passports
Those who wish to change names in their passports, should apply to renew their current passports and the requirements are:
Two printouts of online completed form 19 and corresponding receipts
Two copies of marriage certificate, Deed Poll registered in Kenya Gazette, Divorcee Decree or proof of marriage dissolution.
Original and two copies of current passport
Two passport size photographs (UK Standard) on a white background.
Two copies of current National Identity Card
Two copies of United Kingdom’s Residence Permit/Visa
Applications must be recommended (in Section 7) by a Kenyan citizen, who should provide two copies of his/her passport or ID card.
NB: For correction of dates of birth/place of birth, Original Birth Certificate used to obtain the first passport which should bear the stamp of Immigration Department is required in addition to requirements 2-7 above.

Notes for Photographs
Kindly ensure that photos attached on Form 19 have the following:
Be clear photos – they should not be blurred nor have a dark hue, all facial features should be clearly outlined
Have a full face and both ears showing
Be taken against a white background
Be without shadows in the background
No smiling or laughing
Be taken without spectacles
Size of the face should be 2.5 (two and a half) inches by 2 inches
Weaves and hair should not cover the forehead or the rest of the face
Decent photos – ladies should not be wearing strapless tops
Attach at least 2 photos
