Uhuru finally files response to Raila’s petition with just hours to deadline
President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto have finally filed their response to the NASA petition – With just hours to the midnight deadline on Thursday, August 24, Uhuru announced that they are now ready – NASA filed a petition at the Supreme Court claiming the election was a sham and Uhuru did not win the presidency legitimately – IEBC also filed their 54,000 page response to NASA’s 25,000 page suit With just under 4 hours to the deadline, the Jubilee Party finally filed its response to the National Super Alliance petition filed at the Supreme Court on Friday, August 18. Taking to social media, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that they are now ready to file their response as he signed documents that will be filed. Their response comes just in time with the law requirements that obliges respondents to file responses within four days of filing a petition.
They too, like NASA, waited until it was night time to file their response. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, President Uhuru’s co-respondents, already filed their response with a 54,000 page document. NASA filed their petition alleging that the election held on Tuesday, August 8, were not credible. According to their evidence that they also tabled in the court of public opinion, they claimed IEBC’s systems were hacked to give President Uhuru a win.
