The money flows: Kenya’s election
Polling day is still almost a year away but Jubilee, the party of president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, is already kicking off its presidential election campaign. Tomorrow, the pair will officially launch the new party at a sports stadium on the outskirts of the capital, Nairobi. The party—mostly their personal vehicle—has already spent a fortune on branded cars (the opposition has invested in snazzy buses). Many Kenyans think the election is already stitched up: Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto will win again easily.
