President Ruto heads to Italy for 3-day State Visit

President William Ruto will embark on a 3-day State visit to Italy to hold bilateral talks with President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Head of State is expected to depart on Sunday.
The trip will focus on strengthening Kenya–Italy cooperation, aligning development priorities and unlocking new opportunities in trade, investment and strategic partnerships.
As earlier intimated by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, President Ruto will seek financing for priority projects, sign new Memoranda of Understanding, and accelerate existing bilateral agreements.
“The visit will also promote Kenyan exports and position the country as an attractive destination for Italian investment across key sectors,” Mudavadi noted.
President Ruto had earlier hinted during his Kisii region visit that he would also seek to secure Ksh.1 billion to upgrade Nyamira Hospital.
“We have agreed that we want to upgrade your hospital. Next week I am going to Italy and among the things I will go to look for is Ksh.1 billion for Nyamira Hospital,” he said.
