Nairobi Women’s Hospital Medical Account Suspended By KRA
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has suspended Nairobi Women’s Hospital medical account.
The hospital has been on the spot after leaked conversations showed how the bosses set daily targets for the number of patients that should be admitted to the facility.
However, the hospital has dismissed claims they have been defrauding patients in their facilities.
Insurance Firms also cut ties
All medical insurance firms have cut ties with Nairobi Women’s Hospital after it was found out that the medical staff at the hospital were using uncouth tactics to get more money from patients visiting the hospital.
The leaked screenshots shared by a Twitter User Owaahh paints a hospital run like a trading floor, where patients are the commodity where patients are forcelly admitted, delay to be discharged and overdiagnosed for simple ailments all in the end result of making money.
n leaked whatsapp conversations, the chief executive of the Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Nakurur Branch Dr. Felix Wanjala is seen giving targets for patients to be admitted, discharged and seen. At sme point one nurse is castigated and reprimanded for discrharging too many patients.
The insurers have cut ties with the hospital, advising their clients to seek medical services frm other partner hospitals.
The Government of Kenya now, through KRA has responded on the matter by suspending the medical accounts of the Nairobi Women’s Hospital.
