Mercy Masika discharged from hospital after grisly road accident

Mercy Masika is one artist we adore and love. Her songs have been uplifting from when she first ventured into the gospel music industry.

She encourages us through her songs and now it is time for us to return the favour. It may not be music-wise but prayers work too.

The songbird popularly known for her monster hit,  Mwema, was involved in an accident along Thika Super Highway on Saturday night.

The cause of the accident involving a truck is yet to be confirmed.

Masika was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital where she underwent treatment for a sprained ankle and was discharged shortly after.

Fans took to social media to wish her a quick recovery. Here at Word Is, we wish her a speedy recovery.

Things were, however not as dire as some reports had made them out to be and the mother of two was discharged from hospital on Sunday morning.

Allaying fans’ fears Masika posted, “I take this time to say am completely out of danger and without even a scratch from the accident. I serve a living God.”

This news came as a relief to her worried fans, prompting many of them to praise God for keeping her safe.

This is not the first celebrity car crash to happen this year.

Welle Welle singer Timmy Tdat and his celebrity bae Kush Tracy were involved in a car crash earlier this month in Rongai, Nairobi.

The two were on their way back from an event when the accident happened. They were discharged after a short stay in the hospital, and they have assured fans that they are well.

Uliza Kiatu hit-makers H_art the Band were also involved in a car accident on Thika Road, Nairobi this month. They were on their way back from practice; they were preparing for their album launch.
