Kenyan-Born Man Reported Missing in Oregon as Search Intensifies

Authorities in Washington County, Oregon, are searching for Zacchaeus Tallam, a 46-year-old Kenyan-born man who was reported missing from the Bethany neighbourhood west of Portland after he was last seen on 29 April.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Tallam’s family contacted police after they were unable to reach him for several days. Relatives described his disappearance as unusual and said it does not match his normal behaviour or routine.

Investigators said the circumstances surrounding the case remain unclear and that efforts to trace Tallam are continuing. Search operations are focused on Bethany and nearby areas, with officers asking residents to report any information that could help establish his movements after he was last seen.

Tallam is described as 5ft 7in tall and weighing about 189 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Authorities said he was wearing blue jeans and a navy blue shirt when he was last seen.

The Sheriff’s Office has not said whether foul play is suspected, but investigators stated that all possibilities remain under consideration as the inquiry continues. Officials said missing person investigations require a careful and thorough approach while search efforts remain active.

The case has also affected members of the Kenyan community with connections to Tallam and his family, many of whom are following developments from abroad. Authorities said public cooperation remains important in helping investigators gather information.

Anyone with information about Zacchaeus Tallam’s whereabouts has been asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on 503-846-5570. Family members have also provided a contact number, 301-792-8503, for people wishing to share information directly with relatives.
