President Uhuru Kenyatta has acquired a new deal from his meeting with the United States President Donald Trump on Thursday morning.

A statement from White House Press Secretary about President Kenyatta’s meeting with Trump had revealed that Kenya continues to be a vital partner to the United States in Africa and beyond.

According to the statement, since President Kenyatta’s August 2018 visit, when the two leaders established the United States-Kenya Bilateral Strategic Dialogue, they have expanded their partnership across many areas.

In October 2018, Kenya commissioned a maiden direct flight to New York city.

Kenya Airways became the first airline to offer a non-stop flight between East Africa and the United States of America.

The direct flights can make stopovers either to refuel or to pick more passengers. During the maiden flight, KQ was classified as both non-stop and direct.

The airline was to offer daily flights to and from New York.

It requires four pilots and 12 flight attendants.

The Plane uses 85 tonnes of fuel each way. Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner has a capacity of 234 passengers.

The direct flight shaved off seven hours from the then flight duration of 22 hours.

A return ticket from Nairobi to New York currently starts at Sh66,560, according to the Kenya Airways website.
