Kenya will host the global off-grid solar conference set for February 18-20 2020. The forum will bring together over 800 participants and exhibitors from all around the world. The biennial conference is hosted by GOGLA and World Bank’s Lighting Global Program.
According to Patrick Tonui GOGLA’s EA representative, the forum will allow manufacturers, investors and distributors to review the latest technology. Moreover, the delegates in the biennial event will discuss how policy can promote access to clean solar energy.
“The delegates will analyze the correct policy environment that will enable government and development partners to accelerate access to clean solar energy,” Tonui told CGTN.
Kenya will host the conference owing to its reputation as one of the countries where solar energy takes root. An earlier GOGLA report reveals a rising consumption of off-grid solar energy in Kenya and East Africa.
Besides, nearly 30 million people in the region connected to off-grid solar power systems.
“The 2020 edition will take place in Kenya which is one of the countries where off-grid solar solutions have really taken root,” Tonui continued.
