Family in Uasin Gishu County Appeals for Help to Find Man Missing in Australia

A family in Uasin Gishu County has appealed for help to trace their son, Michael Kiplimo, who has been out of contact for more than a year.

Kiplimo, 37, is from Chepkoilel Mti Moja in Eldoret and travelled to Australia in 2014 in search of better economic opportunities. His relatives say he maintained regular contact during his early years abroad, frequently calling and messaging to share updates about his life and work.

According to the family, he later married an Australian woman and started a family, which reassured them of his wellbeing. However, communication gradually declined over time.

A sibling said their last direct conversation with him took place in 2019, although occasional updates continued through their mother and other relatives. The family believes the last contact from Kiplimo was in early 2025.

Since then, attempts to reach him through his known phone numbers, social media platforms, and former acquaintances have been unsuccessful. Relatives are uncertain of his current location but suspect he may have been living in either Sydney or Adelaide.

Without confirmed details of his residence or employment, they have sought assistance from Kenyan diaspora communities in Australia, local organisations, and the wider public. The situation has caused concern among family members in Eldoret, particularly his mother, who continues to hope for his safe return.

They are appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward and assist in reconnecting him with his family.
