At Liberty Church in Worcester, family and Diaspora paid their last respects to a servant of God, Bishop Pius Macharia. “He started more than 100 churches,” said a pastor. “He was a great man. We spent 55 years together,” said Mrs. Macharia, the widow of the late Bishop as she remembered her husband.
Bishop Macharia was blessed with a life of 77 years.
More than twenty (20) Pastors in Boston region attended the memorial ceremony that celebrated the life a man who had lived his professional life as a pastor. Even though many Worcester Kenyans may not have met or known Bishop Macharia who relocated to Worcester in 2015, they were happy to come to the memorial and celebrate the life of a man who had served God.
Family and friends remembered the servant of God as they sang songs he loved to sing. Pastor Samuel Kariuki led the memorial service. Rev. Jemeriah Githere read the eulogy. Rev. Pastor Christopher Kamau preached the message of God. Daugther Tabby Pius remembered her father with a tribute. Mrs. Macharia thanked everyone who had come to the memorial of her husband.
Puis Macharia body will be laid to rest in Kenya. May God rest his soul in everlasting peace.
