CS Fred Matiang’i says report on re-opening of churches ready
Churches and schools were closed in March 2020 following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus – Uhuru will be expected to provide the way forward on the re-opening of places of worship and learning institutions on Saturday, June 6, after receiving respective reports

In his Madaraka Day speech at State House, Nairobi, the president stated he understood tribulations of many faithfuls who could no longer congregate Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said the report on the re-opening of churches is ready and will be presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta for action soon. During the Madaraka Day celebrations on Monday, June 1, the head of state directed relevant ministries to speed up consultations on the re-opening of places of worship and schools after they were closed in March 2020 following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
