The Coalition For Reforms and Democracy-CORD has now put on hold the launch of its Okoa Kenya referendum draft bill, citing the current stand-off between the government and three media houses over the digital migration exercise. The referendum bid was to be launched on Wednesday but has now been called-off indefinitely, the opposition saying it could not forge ahead without the participation of the three media houses whose analogue signals were switched off last saturday. The move by CORD, came as a slap in the face for other media outlets including radio and print, with Odinga alleging that two of the television stations that had migrated to digital platforms in adherence to the supreme court ruling and regulatory requirements were pro-government.
