Anglican Bishop presides over the Blessing and official opening of New Kenyan Church Building in Sutton,Massachusetts

Hundreds of faithfuls gathered at former St. Anne’s Catholic Church,as the Rt. Rev. John A. Herzog, Presiding Bishop of the American Anglican Church, blessed and officially opened the new Kenyan Church Building bought by St John’s Anglican Church in Sutton Massachusetts.
There was joy and jubilation in the quiet neighborhood of Sutton, as over 450 Kenyans gathered to witness the Lords doing,the official opening of the Sutton Church building of which the Members had prayed for.
God had met our needs,a spacious facility,a holy place of worship,a place to hear the word of God,a place to offer intercession and praise, a place to offer up the joys and pains our daily lives and place to celebrate holy communion where people are nourished and strengthened
The colorful Church service started with prayers,followed by powerful praise and worship.As part of the program and prayer,the congregation sang the Kenyan National,Anthem led by Rev.Kiama.
Bishop Rt. Rev. John A. Herzog,then officially Blessed the Church Building and served Holy Communion assisted by Ven.Samuel Kimohu,Vicar St Stephens Church ,Lowell, Rev Kiama,Rev. Ekira of St Johns Anglican,Rev Ngarama of St Stephen Church Lowell and Rev.Kangethe of St Stephens Church Lowell and St John Anglican Church Lay leader Rosemary.
St Johns Anglican Church,Vicar, Rev Kiama, recognized various individual members with high honors, who have been very instrumental in the Church leadership,growth and development in various capacities.
The Church Parish Council also issued over 80 Membership certificates to new members.
Mr.Anthony Ngumi, gave a detailed report of the Church Development and acquisition of the St John Anglican Church Property located in Manchaug one of the five villages in Sutton,Massachusetts
The youth presented two songs,then shortly after,an emotional send off moment by the Youth.They presented a surprise gift to their outgoing Youth Pastor, Rev.Cyrus Irungu, some youth wept as it was an emotional moment,they then gathered and surrounded Rev Cyrus Irungu and gave him a warm hug of thank you and goodbye.
Rev Joseph Waiyaki,Secretary of the Kenyan American Pastors Fellowship,sent apologies from the KAPF President Ven Peter Gachathi,Vicar St.Pauls Community Church,Lawrence and then introduced the Pastors present and their wives.He also gave them a moment to introduce themselves and greet the congregation.
Rev. Waiyaki, stressed the need for unity,stating that in the last two weeks under the Kenyan Pastors Leadership and the Kenyan Community were able to raise over $58,000 to help meet Funeral expenses of two Kenyans who passed on.
St Johns Anglican Church,Lay leader Rosemary,Prayed for the food and a sumptuous meal was then offered by the Church,and there was lots of food to eat and take home.
St John’s Anglican Church, a parish of the American Anglican Church and Diocese of Holy Innocent, Begun 10 years ago, By Rev John Karanja,later Rev Ekira Muriithi took over and handed over to Rev Kiama.
