Preliminary Autopsy Report Reveals What Killed General Joseph Nkaissery
Preliminary reports from late Interior Cabinet Secretary General Joseph Nkaissery’s postmortem tests have ruled out foul play in his sudden death. A team of pathologists on Monday carried out autopsy tests on the late CS’s body, with early reports indicating that Nkaissery suffered a heart attack.
Dr Charles Kariuki revealed that the artery supplying the wall of the Minister’s heart was severely defective and only allowed “a small volume of blood to pass.”
The team said that they will conduct more tests and give more information.
Kariuki said that heart attacks can be precipitated by anything including old age and high blood pressure although “It is unusual for a man of Nkaissery’s age to have a heart attack.”
Nkaissery was declared dead at around 1 am on Saturday after being admitted at Karen Hospital. He had complained of chest pain moments before he passed away.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday at his rural home in Kajiado County.
