President Uhuru Kenyatta this evening addressed an International Press Conference exuding confidence that all African Union member states will endorse the proposed establishment of the continental court of Justice and Human Rights.
He was optimistic that the few dissenting voices will finally reason with the majority of AU states and come on board of the new initiative.
“We have taken a very strong position on this matter”, said President Kenyatta adding that the issue will form the key Agenda when the AU reconvenes in June in South Africa.
He also assured the Western world who are opposed to the new Court that Africa is not for impunity but justice and fairness.
“We need a court that addresses Africa’s needs without interference. We want a situation where fairness prevails’, said President Kenyatta adding that he was “very happy” with the new development.
