(Video) Man Whisked Away Subsequent to Impeding President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Motorcade in Nairobi
President Kenyatta’s security detail was forced to act after a man blocked his motorcade in Nairobi.
The incident happened on Wednesday while the president was headed to Lucky Summer estate to open the Sh300 million Neema abattoir.
A video shared on social media shows the man moving from a small crowd that was standing along the road waving at Uhuru’s speeding motorcade.
The man waits for the chase cars to pass before moving to the center of the road and uses his hands to stop the convoy.
The cars stopped with security moving with speed to push the man off the road before he is arrested by one officer.
Kenyatta, who was seated at the co-driver seat, was seen waving at the crowd during the brief incident, which came days after a man was arrested in Lamu after trying to charge towards the president.
Uhuru was speaking during the official opening of the Lamu Port when the man suddenly emerged from the audience, prompting the president to pause his speech.
The intruder was identified as James Kinyua Wamuchomba, who hails from Lamu.
Police said he was armed with his National Identification card and was protesting over the lack of jobs at the new port.
