UAE to attract best global minds
The approval came as the UAE Cabinet – presided over by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – met on Sunday at the Presidential Palace.
The first phase of the system includes tourism, health and educational visas. The second phase will include talent acquisition in health, scientific research, technical and cultural fields.
Sheikh Mohammed called for establishing specialised committees to prioritise the sectors that will benefit from the talent acquisition visa, and to put forward a plan to attract regional and global exceptional talents.
The visa scheme provides additional support to vital sectors in the UAE such as tourism, health and education by strengthening their business areas and promotes global competitive edge. Lifestyle, practical policies for financing, and infrastructure are major advantages to attract talents and multinational companies to operate in the UAE.
After the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed tweeted that the scheme will focus on attracting people with exceptional minds and talents.
“The UAE is the land of opportunities. It is the best environment to fulfil human dreams, unleash their potentialities and talents,” he tweeted. “The wealth of the future is human minds, thoughts and innovations. Digging out those fortunes will add to our economy, future and true wealth.”
The cabinet meeting was attended by Lt.-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.READ MORE
