The Kenya-USA FTA Diaspora Stakeholder consultation convened by the Embassy in DC
The Kenya-USA FTA Diaspora Stakeholder consultation was convened by the Embassy in DC with a view to raising awareness of the negotiations in the Kenya Diaspora Community and availing them the opportunity to provide input to the forthcoming text-based second round of the negotiations.
Ambassador Amayo and his team apprised the Diaspora Community of the status of the talks, gave brief synopsis of the main issues under consideration and encouraged them to share their perspectives.
The community members were appreciative of the outreach conducted by the Embassy. They provided invaluable inputs on both the process guiding the negotiations as well on some key substantive aspects of the talks.
A number of the community members expressed their willingness to avail their expertise. The Embassy and the Diaspora Community agreed to hold follow up consultative meetings
