Rigathi Gachagua Takes 2027 Political Campaign to Kenyans in Britain

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met members of the Kenyan diaspora in Swindon, United Kingdom, as part of his efforts to build support ahead of the 2027 general election.

During the consultative forum, Gachagua outlined his political vision and discussed governance, leadership, and economic empowerment with Kenyans living abroad. He said the diaspora plays an important role in national development and constructive dialogue.

“I tabled my vision for Kenya and what my administration would prioritise given the opportunity to serve the people of Kenya,” he said.

He added that his leadership would focus on ensuring that no one is excluded from national development and economic progress. The Swindon meeting was part of Gachagua’s wider visit to the United Kingdom, where he has been engaging diaspora communities and presenting his political agenda.

He urged Kenyans abroad to remain involved in national affairs, describing the country’s current economic situation as unstable and calling for collective action to support recovery and growth. Gachagua also stressed the need for resilience among diaspora communities, saying they should continue supporting what he described as a broader effort to improve governance and strengthen the economy.

The event reflects the growing importance of diaspora engagement in Kenyan politics. With remittances continuing to contribute significantly to the economy, political leaders are increasingly recognising Kenyans abroad as influential participants in national policy and governance discussions.
