KU students eulogised as intelligent girls with promising futures

Two KU students who died in a grisly Kisii road accident last Friday have been eulogised “intelligent girls who had a promising future”.

Eight people were  confirmed dead after the accident on Kisii-Kilgoris road at Etora area.

Second-year students Vinnah Isoe (Kiswahili and CRE) and Mary Maina (BEd English and Literature) were described as bright and ever-jovial students by school mates.

“I have experienced a personal loss in the demise of the two who were my closest friends. I will miss the good times we had studying together and encouraging each other,” said Betty Njeri.

Kenyatta University acting vice chancellor Paul Wainaina urged students to take life seriously during a  requiem mass for the students at the university on Wednesday.

“The best thing parents have in this world is you. We have visions for you to grow up and realise your full potential in areas in which God has gifted you,” said Wainaina.

Maina will be buried on Thursday in Nyahururu and Isoe in Kisii next Tuesday.

The two were among several university six students who died while traveling to a night party at their friend’s rural home in Magena in Kisii county.

One of the girls survived the road crash.
