KENYA’S SMARTEST MAN JAMES MAINA MWANGI
Little known James Mwangi Maina believes he is the smartest man in Africa.
Mr Mwangi, a Kenyan freedom fighter’s son is not just a tailor in Nairobi Umoja Estate but has any color of socks, shoes and suit that you could be thinking never exists.
He believes he is perhaps the smartest man in Africa.
To be like him, Mwangi says “You must ask God for three things; Taste, choice and wisdom.”
Mwangi’s wardrobe has about 160 different suits. He owns more than 200 pairs of shoes and at least 300 multi-colored complimentary caps.
All these are made in different colours that bring the best out of his not-sought after good look.
“When I want to wear something, if it is a green suit, I wear it with a green shirt, green shoes, green socks, green cap, green underwear, green pen and a green cover for my phone,” he told BBC Africa in an interview.

Mr Mwangi recounts having been a laughing stock in the city for the longest part of his youthful days. He could only wear one shirt and everyone instead of pity ended up laughing on seeing him.
Mwangi says; “That is when I asked God to give me something different from other people.”

Today, you could break your neck when trying to get a glimpse of Mr Mwangi as he rides on his stylish motorcycle through the estate to his shop in Umoja.
Those who know Mwangi say despite being ever smartly dressed, he has infected his motorcycle with a touch of his personal brand.
The byke has refused to lose a cent on its ask price. It is as clean and as new as Mwangi’s suits.
