Kenya’s Ambassador David Kerich Advances Ties with Costa Rica Ahead of Credential Ceremony

Kenya–Costa Rica Relations Strengthen as Ambassador Kerich Presents Credentials

H.E. David Kerich, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the United States of America, resident in Washington, D.C. and concurrently accredited to Costa Rica, officially presented copies of his Letters of Credence to H.E. Arnoldo André Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica.

This important diplomatic step paves way for formal presentation of credentials to H.E Laura Fernández Delgado, President of the Republic of Costa Rica, scheduled for April 30, 2026. The presentation of Letters of Credence formally signifies the receiving State’s recognition of an ambassador as the official representative of the sending State, thereby enabling him to fully discharge his diplomatic functions.

Following today’s ceremony, H.E. David Kerich held a productive tête-à-tête meeting with the Minister, during which both sides reaffirmed the strong and cordial relations between Kenya and the Costa Rica. They explored priority areas of cooperation aimed at advancing mutual interests and strengthening bilateral engagement.

The discussions emphasized the revitalization of the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding through enhanced and structured political consultations. Both parties also underscored the importance of deepening sectoral collaboration in Agriculture, Sustainable Tourism, Animal Health and Medicine, Renewable Energy, and strengthening engagement in multilateral fora, including mutual support for international candidatures.

H.E. Ambassador Kerich expressed sincere appreciation for the enduring friendship between the two countries and reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.
