A Kenyan woman died after being hit by an SUV in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
According to police, Mercy Wamaitha Kimani, 41, was struck by an SUV while walking along Low Street in Newburyport on June 24 around 9pm. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A WhatsApp group has been set up to coordinate Mercy’s funeral arrangements
I hope this message finds you well. We are writing to you on behalf of Jane Kimani (mother to Mercy) with a heavy heart to inform you about the sudden passing of a beloved sister Mercy Wamaitha. In these challenging times, we are reaching out to Samrack’s friends and family for support in organizing the funeral arrangements.
As we navigate this difficult period, we are faced with the responsibility of arranging a fitting farewell to honor Wamaitha. However, the associated costs are quickly accumulating, and it would be tremendously helpful if we could gather contributions from you.
To that end, we humbly request your support in the form of a financial contribution towards the funeral expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to contribute, please find the details below for donating:
Alternatively, if you prefer another contribution method or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Florence Mwangi and John Njenga.
In addition to your financial support, we would greatly appreciate your presence at the memorial service on Friday, 7/14 (mark your calendar). The details of the time and location will be provided soon.
