Kenyan Student Philip Kibet Ngeny Reported Missing in the UK

A 28-year-old Kenyan man living in the UK has been reported missing after his family and friends lost contact with him on 7 August 2026.

Philip Kibet Ngeny travelled to Britain in September 2023 to study at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. After completing his academic programme, he is understood to have started working at a warehouse in the city.

His family became concerned in late July as Philip was preparing to move to Coventry. A close friend, Ezekiel, said he had agreed to help with the move but Philip did not arrive at their meeting point. When contacted, Philip said he was running late and would not be able to make it.

His communication with family members had also become unusual. His sister, Patricia Meto, said she messaged him on 28 July but did not receive a response until 4 August, when he sent a brief “Hello”.

Patricia said this was unlike his usual communication, as he would normally explain if he was busy and arrange to call later. The family is concerned because they do not know whether he is safe.

Friends have also been unable to contact Philip. Lesly Choge said she repeatedly called and sent messages without receiving a response. She reported him missing to West Midlands Police on 18 August. The case reference is 001713-18082026.

Lesly said Philip’s phone has remained switched off. She also told him that she planned to contact the police in the hope that he would respond, but he did not.

Philip’s family has appealed directly to him to make contact and reassure them that he is safe. Patricia said the family, particularly his mother, has been distressed by the lack of information about his whereabouts.

Police and his relatives are appealing to anyone who may have seen Philip or has information about his movements to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police or Philip’s family on +254790211791 or +44 7349 688185.

Particular attention is being given to anyone who may have had contact with Philip around the time of his planned move to Coventry. Philip’s family and friends continue to hope that he will be found safe and are urging him to contact his relatives as soon as possible.
