Kenya To Engage Egypt In Military Production Cooperation
Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Samson Mwathethe had visited Egypt where he met with Minister of Military Production Mohamed el Assar and the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy.
The two military chiefs discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation and in particular they considered Kenya and Egypt adopting a venture in manufacturing military arms.
During his visit, General Mwathethe toured Egyptian Tank Plant Factory, considered one of the modern military production plants in Egypt.
Assar hailed good relations with Kenya and stressed on the need to cooperate in strengthening the militaries for both countries in the wake rising ills of terrorism.
Before concluding his visit on Friday on 6th May 2016, General Mwathethe also had talks with Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy on the latest developments in Africa. They also discussed boosting cooperation between the two countries’ Armed Force.
