KCB sponsors 105 on trip to Israel
KCB Group is set to sponsor a group of entrepreneurs on an international trip to Israel as part of efforts to support growth of the SME sector. The regional largest lender by asset base will be sending 105 members of its Biashara Club — a platform meant to bring together entrepreneurs to network — for international exposure next week. The eight-day tour aims to help members find new export/import markets and learn from successful businesses, especially in agriculture. “The SME sector plays a critical role in the creation of jobs and generating income for low-income people,” KCB retail banking director Annastacia Kimtai said on Tuesday at a press briefing. The KCB Biashara Club was established in 2008 and currently has 12,000 active members in Kenyaand over 4,000 in South Sudan and Rwanda. The bank is also organising other trips to Turkey and China where members will attend trade fairs and exhibitions. – Daily Nation.
