Israel Announces Assassination of Hezbollah Terrorist

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in southern Lebanon.
IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the news in a statement on Sunday, October 12, stating that the terrorist was involved in attempts to reestablish the Iranian-backed terror group’s infrastructure in the area.
“The Defense Army attacked yesterday in the Burj Qalawiya area in southern Lebanon and eliminated one of Hezbollah’s terrorist elements who was attempting to rebuild military infrastructure for the organization in southern Lebanon,” read the statement in part.
At the same time, Avichay revealed that on Saturday, October 11, the IDF also attacked an engineering vehicle used by Hezbollah to rebuild military infrastructure in the Blida area of southern Lebanon.

According to the spokesperson, the Hezbollah terrorist organization continues its efforts to rebuild its terrorist infrastructure, endangering the residents of Lebanon and using them as human shields.
The Israeli military on Friday dismantled a Hezbollah weapons facility in the area of Ayta ash-Shab in Southern Lebanon.
Acting on intelligence, the troops searched the site before demolishing the structure and seizing the weapons found inside.
“The terrorist activities and attempts to rebuild military infrastructure in southern Lebanon constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” he added.
This follows the announcement by Hezbollah in September that one of its operatives, Muhammad Ali Yassin, was eliminated in an Israeli airstrike in Tulin, southern Lebanon.
Yassin was involved in the development and production of weapons for Hezbollah. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Muhammad Yassin was operating in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon.
Underground Hezbollah Base Hit by Israeli Air Force
Earlier, in late August, Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck an underground Hezbollah military facility on Lebanon’s Beaufort Ridge, intensifying concerns over the fragile enforcement of ceasefire understandings.
In a statement released on August 31, the IDF said the strike targeted “military infrastructure, including underground installations at a Hezbollah terror site where military activity was identified” in the Beaufort Ridge area.
According to the IDF, “the existence of the site and the activity there constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” and they vowed that “the IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”
Since the 14-month Israel-Hezbollah war ended in late November with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Israel has carried out nearly daily airstrikes, killing dozens of people.
