Covid-19 Recovery: Kenyans Doubt Brenda and Brian’s Story
Yesterday, the government of Kenya (GoK) unveiled the first patients whom they said had recovered from the coronavirus.
The patients Ivy Brenda Cherotich and Brian Orinda had an online call with the President of the Republic Mr Uhuru Kenyatta and thereafter, videos of Brenda were shared online telling Kenyans to believe that Coronavirus is beatable and askig them to follow GoK directives on defeating Covid-19.
Brian said he got the virus after getting into contact with Brenda who said she had never met Brian until in isolation yet these ones have been friends for ages unless this is not the Brian. If her story is true why so much inconsistencies as she hip hop tv stations? Not adding up pic.twitter.com/6cRhbe4n3A

Many Kenyans took to social media, especailly after Brenda Cherotich was on the local show JKLive. Most shared that the explanations from Brenda weren’t consistent at all.
First, government announced that Kenya’s patient 1 was female, that is correct.
Secondly, GoK announced patient 1 on 13th march, 2020, Brenda said she was in isolation for 23 days. How?
Fourthly, Brenda says that she first met Brian at the isolation centre in Mbagathi, netizens who were busy on her Facebook page have dug out her pictures with Brian on various ocassions.
Thirdly, when shePatient 1 was first announced, GoK said she had been to Trans Nzoia county specifically Kitale town and Rongai in Nairobi, Brenda said she was Kericho, from her explanations, she has never been to Kitale.
Fourthly, Brenda says that she first met Brian at the isolation centre in Mbagathi, netizens who were busy on her Facebook page have dug out her pictures with Brian on various ocassions.
Fifthly, Brenda said she was in the US on 19th December, 2019, however, Netizens have unearthed a picture of her in Kericho on December 28th 2020.
Kenyans have pointed out many incosnsistencies in her stories, though some are weak.
KBF thinks that her explanations on being taken to Mbagathi but treated by KNH doctors is legit if she was sick, because doctors can roam anywhere.
Her story about catchig the disease in London is just a following of the GoK’s narrative, she might have caught the disease in USA too if she ever was there.
Anyways, so far Kenya has 81 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 3 cases have been closed, i.e. 2 recoveries and 1 death. Worldwide, as at now, th statistics stands as follows Cases936,365, Death 47,250, Recovered 194,585, Active case 694,530, Critically ill 35,611, mild condition 658,919.
The best defence against covid-19 is to wash your hands with soap more often than usual or use alcohol based hand sanitizer, wear a mask where applicable, don’t touch your mouuth, eyes and nose after touching surfaces, stay at home (if you can).
