Bro Samuel Mbugua (Bishops Kahora’s spiritual son) invited and welcomed the preacher of the day;Bishop Simon Peter Kahora who gave a powerful sermon on the dire need to be our brothers keeper.
He was speaking from the book of Genesis citing illustrations from the Cain & Abel story in the bible. Cain is described as a crop farmer and his younger brother Abel as a shepherd. Cain was the first human born and Abel was the first human to die.Cain committed the first murder by killing Abel.
He also touched on Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship.
During the colorful dedication service, the 9 parents and families expressed vows before God, their family, and the church, declaring their desire to raise their child in a God-honoring way.
The 9 individuals that were dedicated were Imani Muti Mbaluka,Jeanny Grace Eboa Ntamack,Happy Kahambu Nyelele,Timothy Mwaura Njuguna,Samuel Njara Gichuki,Rebecca Rose Gathuru,Sophia Nyokabi Gathuru,Jackson Ndungu Gathuru & Benjamin Kagai Kangethe.
The Congregation was reminded that Baby/Child Dedication is the act of giving back to God the gift he has given you as parents (Mark 10:14). It is an act of worship, thanksgiving, dependence, trust and commitment.
The practice of Baby/Child Dedication has been modeled throughout the Bible: Hannah brought her long-awaited son, Samuel, to the priest, Eli, to dedicate him to the Lord (I Samuel 1:24-28). Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple for his dedication (Luke 2:21- 31)
The Bible is clear that salvation only comes to a child through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that is evidenced through belief and confession (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10).Salvation is not passed on to a child through dedication.
Bishop Simon Peter Kahora is the Senior Pastor Kamirithu Kenya Assemblies of God (Limuru).
He also spends a lot of time at
the Bethel Children home for orphans. At Bethel Children’s home they offer compassionate/HIV & Aids program which assist children with food, medications,Counseling and any other medical assistance the Children may need.
We give God all the glory for a colorful occasion said Samuel Mbugua who took his son Timothy to be dedicated, just to see many families bringing their children to be dedicated to God is a huge Blessing.
