Applications for KCB foundation high school scholarships are now open

Two hundred and forty bright but needy students who sat for the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPE) examinations will benefit from scholarships from the KCB Foundation next year.

KCB Foundationhas opened applications for the 2018 scholarship programme where successful students will receive full scholarship for four years of secondary education in public schools.

Out of the 240 slots, 40 have been reserved for students with physical, visual and hearing disabilities, in a development that further deepens the Foundation’s investment in social programmes like education and mentorship.

The application period is open until December, 14, 2017 and interviews will be conducted across the country on December 15-16, 2017.

For consideration, applicants must have sat their KCPE examination in a public primary school and attained the prescribed county cut off marks. In addition, they must be proven to be from a needy background and must have an admission notification to a public National/ Provincial/ ex-County secondary school.

The scholarship caters for full school fees, stationery and uniform. The students will also be assigned to a mentor from their home branch for quarterly one-on-one mentorship sessions.

The recruitment will bring to 1,552 the number of students who have benefitted from the KCB scholarships since 2007. Out of this number, 157 are persons with disabilities.

Application forms and details about the scholarship programme are available at all KCB Bank branches countrywide or can be downloaded from the KCB Foundation website.
