American Businessman’s Appeal to the City of Dallas: “Don’t Zone Me Out of Business” +Video
A Kenyan-American businessman in Dallas, Texas says the city of Dallas is cutting his dream short by forcing him to close his auto repair shop.
Hinga Mbogo, who immigrated to Dallas from Kenya in 1974, opened Hinga’s Automotive Company in 1985 along Ross Avenue and has been operating the business since then. He has been fighting a long battle with the city of Dallas to keep his business open. The city wants it moved from the current location to pave way for a new development at the location.
Mbogo’s last recourse is the Dallas City Council, which will hear his Appeal on April 13th. He is also asking area residents, whom he says he has been proudly serving for decades and are proud of his work, to sign a petition to keep his shop open at its current location.
